COMING SOON!* Nanton's ONLY miniature newspaper ...

You read it here, folks. I will most definitely pretty soon any day now once again be putting out Nanton's ONLY (and Canada's BIGGEST) semi-occasional miniature newspaper ... next week. Or sometime. As you can see for yourself from a note a stranger once scribbled on the back of a bar receipt, the Nanton Experiment is the nation's preeminent miniature newspaper.

A little background: the Experiment reached national notoriety a few years back when it intentionally t'd off Sun Media. BUT!—we have since buried the hatchet. This editor now wishes only the best for Sun Media-owned Nanton News, is pleased that the paper has a great little office and a wise editor and looks forward to working together on something ... sometime ... when either of them get a chance.

However. It does not mean the Experiment will cease attempting to sneak itself into news boxes and legitimate publications. It's one of my favourite things to do.

Each issue, you can expect an experiment of some sort. It might be a product I just invented or a service I will try out in a shameless attempt to make money or make it into an actual newspaper. It may be a local business or personality or recipe or a rodent (or all that combined—like two retirees living on a "gopher ranch" batting around the idea of selling gopher burgers. I for one would try one.) Stories/experiments will be good natured and promote local business by devising some hilarious way to tell you about it. In short, journalism/schmournalism the way I always envisioned.

Due to the semi-occasional nature of this publication, issues will be launched with fireworks, bell-ringing and undue fanfare. With its irregularity, it seems the most sensible means of public notification.

The Nanton Experiment office is located inside an old MacEwan Schoolhouse and Nanton's Visitor Information Centre, where I do double-duty as town contact and miniature newspaper publisher extraodinaire. I like to think I am helping preserve and simultaneously make history.

Come in, pick up a copy of the Nanton Experiment, suggest experiments, keep me company (I can get so lonely...) and I can give you a million ideas of things to do in this very cool little town.
